Children can come up with the most fabulously ingenious ideas. As adults, we may often dismiss these 'flights of fancy' as nothing more than imaginative suggestions. But every once in a while, a childish idea becomes a seed that grows into a plan, and from there, the sky's the limit.
This is how the story of Sensory Kneads Playdough started-with a single comment from my eldest child suggesting that I could actually sell the multi-sensory playdough that we were making together.
The seed of an idea was planted.
From speaking with friends who worked with young children with either a coeliac diagnosis or gluten sensitivities, or who have these medical conditions themselves, I learned about the challenges of creating gluten-free playdough that was comparable to the typical compounds and recipes that contained wheat flour.
After extensive research and experimentation, the recipe that forms the basis of all our playdough varieties was created.
